PFLAG envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.

PFLAG Sandy Springs started when participants attending PFLAG Johns Creek support group meetings, speakers, and socials wanted to have meetings more convenient for those living near the perimeter. Support groups for teens and adults started meeting monthly in the community rooms of Congregation Bnai Torah’s synagogue in Sandy Springs.
In July 2019, several participants volunteered to take roles on the new board. PFLAG Sandy Springs was recognized by national PFLAG as a chapter when the Georgia Secretary of State’s office accepted our registration as a domestic nonprofit corporation in March 2020.
